Rusty Hyde

Russell “Rusty” Hyde, P.E.

Rusty is the founder of Blaststone, LLC, a technology and engineering services company that provides arc flash studies. In addition, the company also provides protective device coordination, and fault current calculations. Rusty has also been chief engineer at Hyde Engineering since 1996. Prior Hyde and Blaststone, Rusty served as a navigator in the United States Air Force. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Rusty’s unique insight as a small business-owner coupled with leadership lessons from the military make him an excellent contractor for any size job.

Joe “Max” Payne

Max Payne

As the Vice President for Blaststone Max is responsible for the day-to-day management of projects. He has more than eight years experience in electrical lighting design and supply. In 2016 he was named one of the “Top 30 Under 35” by TED Magazine and served as Vice President of the Alabama IES Board, prior to that he served as Treasurer. Max earned a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Florida with a minor in Business and Religion.
